I Think I'll Call It A Morning

I'm gonna take myself a piece of sunshine
And paint it all over my sky

Be no rain
Be no rain

Gil Scott-Heron - 'I Think I'll Call It A Morning' (1971)

  1. Had Coltrane & Lady Day turn up on the pod the other day, just as the train moved out into a gorgeous bit of open fields. Lovely.

  4. !

Love those soundtracking the landscape moments you get listening to music on long train journeys; love long train journeys in fact - well, as long as I have a good seat, and maybe a G&T.

And yes, what a piece of work is Pieces Of A Man...

  5. What a tune. The piano is from Charlie Brown, the drums from Mary, Mungo and Midge (when Mungo rides a bike or somesuch moment of heightened tension).

Soundtrack/landscape: our finest moment was driving over the peak of a hill in Dorset, just as the clouds behind us broke, lighting up the entire Purbeck landscape ahead, with golden early evening summer sun - at the exact moment XTC's Summer's Cauldron switches into Grass.
